The Eastern front was much bigger so obviously those pilots have more kills. I know it'd be unfair to compare the Germans who fought in the Eastern front with the Western Allies. He shot down 34 planes, all of them from the Luftwaffe which makes him the biggest Allied pilot fighting in the Western front. All his kills were from the Japan, so I don't know if we can count him as "Western" Ally because he didn't fight in the Western front. Top "Western" Allied ace comes N° 403 in the ranking, with 40 planes shot down. There are only 4 Allied aces who shot more than 50 planes(all from Soviet Union) while there are 348 Axis pilots who shot more than 50 planes. He shot down 62 planes(vs 352 from Erich Hartmann, top German ace, who is number 1 in the ranking) The first Allied pilot comes in the rank N° 232, Ivan Kozhedub. The N° 156 was from Japan, still part of the Axis.

N° 122 in the ranking was from Finland, so it's still part of the Axis. I took a list of the 1000 biggest WW2 acesįrom this list, the first 121 pilots in the ranking were from the Luftwaffe.
